Hyper

Hyper Sudoku

Hyper Sudoku adds extra highlighted regions to the classic Sudoku board. It can work for large print if the highlights are clear and not visually noisy.

Hyper variant profile

Rule change
Four additional highlighted regions must also contain each number once.
Senior fit
The extra regions only work if the highlight is very clear.
Playable state
Future variant, not yet a live large print mode.
Design need
Region contrast must be obvious without overwhelming the board.

Why design matters

Hyper regions need clear shading or outlines. For older adults, subtle color alone is not enough.

This is a plausible future variant after classic difficulty, Mini, and print support are mature.

What makes it different from classic Sudoku

Hyper Sudoku still uses rows, columns, and standard boxes, but the four extra regions add another layer of constraint.

That makes it interesting for experienced players, though it needs careful visual treatment before it can be a senior-friendly product page.

Practical Questions

Is Hyper Sudoku live yet?

Not as a live variant mode. This page explains the future fit and the design requirements.

Why mention contrast so much?

Because the extra highlighted regions only work if older adults can tell them apart immediately.
